EN 5) Distribution section

Members are encouraged to review the draft text and to submit their comments through the online platform until 5 July 2026

This online consultation is open to FAO Members from 4 May to 5 July 2026 (23:59 CEST). This consultation aims at reviewing the draft text of the distribution section of the FAO Guidance on Social Responsibility in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Value Chains. It provides a dedicated platform for Members to review and submit comments on the draft section.

The FAO Guidance is structured in two main parts:

General framework, which sets out the objectives, scope, principles, and target audience of the Guidance; and
Six sections addressing key stages of fisheries and aquaculture value chains: 1) industrial fishing, 2) small-scale fishing, 3) aquaculture production, 4) processing, 5) distribution, and 6) retailing and wholesaling.

This consultation forms an integral part of the FAO participatory development process and aims to ensure that Members’ inputs are fully reflected in the further refinement of the draft text.

Translations (ES, FR, AR, RU, ZH) of the draft texts are provided by FAO as a courtesy for ease of reference; however, these translations are not official.
